Getting started

Press Shift Command V anywhere. A shelf slides up with what you have copied recently. Arrow keys move, Return pastes, Escape closes. Command 1 through Command 9 pick one of the first nine directly. Shift Return pastes text without its formatting.

Common questions

Nothing happens when I press the shortcut

Check that CopyYo is running. It lives in the menu bar and has no Dock icon. If another app already owns that shortcut, change CopyYo's under Settings > Shortcut.

Choosing an item copies it but does not paste it

Auto-paste needs Accessibility permission, because pasting means sending a Command-V key event to whatever app you were in. Turn it on in Settings > General, then allow CopyYo under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility. Without it, choosing an item puts it on the clipboard and you press Command V yourself.

I do not want CopyYo recording a certain app

Settings > Privacy, then add the app to the exclusion list. Anything a password manager marks as confidential is ignored automatically, with no setup.

How much history does it keep?

1,000 items by default. You can choose 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000 or Unlimited under Settings > General, next to "Keep history for". Pinned items are never pruned and do not count toward the limit.

How do I clear everything?

Click the CopyYo icon in the menu bar and choose Clear History. To remove a single card, select it in the shelf and press Command Delete.

Does anything leave my Mac?

Only one request, and only when you copy a web link: CopyYo fetches that page's title and icon so the link is recognizable. Switch it off in Settings > Privacy. There is no account, no sync and no analytics. Full details in the privacy policy.

Copies from my iPhone are not showing up

That is Universal Clipboard, a macOS feature. Both devices need the same Apple Account, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on, and Handoff enabled.

Requirements

macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Apple silicon and Intel.
